Our community donation-based crisis aid program is a locally run initiative that provides emergency support to individuals and families facing urgent needs or crisis, such as food insecurity, housing instability, or medical crises. Funded entirely by community donations, the program distributes resources that ensure access to food security, housing and basic needs. Crisis Aid also campaigns for Tools for School and Coats for Kids to ensure that children in the community are being given every opportunity for a bright future. The program relies on volunteers and partnerships with local organizations to quickly respond to crises and ensure help is accessible, compassionate and free of charge.
WHAT IS CRISIS AID?
The Crisis Aid Program is a non profit organization founded in 2013 and was originally known as the Stettler Emergency Relief Fund. This program is funded 100% by donations raised within the community and receives no government funding at all.
A crisis is a broad variety of situations in which an individual or family cannot meet a basic necessity, cannot maintain a reserved living condition, or meet essential medical needs.
We are a last resort financial assistance program. We may be able to assist with one-time funding for temporary or permanent accommodations, medical trips, prescriptions, utility arrears, employment related expenses, etc.
We offer basic budgeting to help with sustainability as well as direction towards other necessary resources.
